Agnelo Fernandes serves as President of Jade Resort Residences & Beach Club. Agnelo will oversee all operational, finance, sales and brand marketing for the development. Jade will be Agnelo's 13th resort/hotel opening.
Agnelo has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry with a record of producing strong branding, as well as operations and financial success for some of the most respected names in the resort, wellness and real estate sectors.
Agnelo joins Jade following a tenure at Canyon Ranch Miami Beach where he was part of the Executive Leadership Team tasked with the pre-opening and launch of the first Canyon Ranch wellness spa and resort. He created the opening master business plan that integrated the marketing of an all-suite luxury hotel, a 70,000 square feet wellness center comprising of a spa and fitness center, health and healing center, gourmet nutritious food and beverage experiences and retail outlets. Agnelo also had responsibility for the real estate marketing and sales of the residential condominiums, streamlining the sales and operations process and successfully guiding the team to achieve its sales goals.
Before joining Canyon Ranch, Agnelo was Director of Sales & Marketing at Sonesta Hotel and Suites. He was part of the leadership team that achieved average revenue growth of 25 percent within the first four years.
Agnelo has held leadership positions with the Ocean Point Resort and Spa in Sunny Isles Beach and Rex Resorts in the Caribbean. At Rex Resorts, he successfully relaunched the brand in the Americas by repositioning seven resorts and opening two new resorts.
Recognized with several industry accolades, Agnelo was awarded the Caribbean Hotel Association's Sales Person of the Year 1995. He began his career in the hotel industry with Starwood where he trained and held management positions. Originally from Goa, Agnelo received his MBA with Top Honors from Oklahoma City University. He is actively involved in several professional and socio-cultural organizations.
Agnelo's greatest passion is his family. He enjoys spending time with his wife Arti and daughters, Nicole (15) and Celeste (11). He's also an avid sports fan and enjoys reading, playing the guitar and outdoor grilling.
